Our history, from the beginning to now
Geomytsa was founded in 1982 in order to provide solutions in the field of marine and land research and coastal engineering. Today, with more than 40 years of experience in geophysics and oceanography, we still carry out our original activity through a continuous adaptation to technological, economic and professional change.
Over the years we have carried out contracts with prestigious national and international companies and institutions such as Acciona, Dragados S.A., Ferrovial S.A., Sacyr, FCC, Iberdrola, Enagás, Repsol, Medgaz, Endesa, Cepsa, Fugro, Van Oord, Boskalis, Dravosa, Intecsa-Inarsa S.A., Typsa, Sener, Tragsa, Técnicas Reunidas, Proes, Capital Energy S.A., Isdefe, the Ministry of the Environment, the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (I.E.O.) and the Port Authorities, among others, thus confirming a high technical quality. And we have worked all over Spain and internationally in countries such as Senegal, Morocco, Israel, Cuba, Libya, Mauritania, Algeria, Portugal and Ecuador.
The company has committed itself to training professionals capable of carrying out the necessary maintenance and the proper use of its equipment, as well as designing new ones. The field of marine geophysics has been strengthened with the acquisition of oil exploration equipment, making us the first Spanish company with the capacity to carry out hydrocarbon surveys.
For years we have been working on activities related to marine biology and ecology, promoting the study of coastal dynamics, the marine biosphere and environmental impact assessment, above all in specially protected areas or areas affected by pollution. To this end we have autonomous underwater vehicles (ROVs), underwater filming equipment, multiparameter probes and spectrophotometers able to analyse the degree of pollution of both the water and the sediments.
We have designed and built high-technology vibration equipment, able to obtain marine cores up to 6 meters long in 20 seconds, covering another need of the national market that had traditionally been covered with foreign equipment and techniques.
